felt backed carpet::We are decorating the dining room and replacing the carpet.
It is currently hessian backed on underlay, carpet grippers around the side.
The floor underneath is marley tile over concrete floor.
They no longer do rubber backed carpet in england due to enviromental issues.
Can i leave the grippers down or will the fitter have a problem?
Im thinking of taking the grippers up?
What do you think?
If i take the grippers up i will have to level the edges as they have all broken around the sides when the grippers were nailed down.
No big deal to get the edges flat with some floor cement, but id rather do it when i was decorating.
Then if the puppy continues, we can just keep replacing the cheaper carpet.
As felt backed carpet is thin, and, not raised up by the underlay?
What do ya reckin?
felt backed carpet::I can answer any questions about tackstrip,
padding, stretching, seaming, pattern matching, glue down and double
glue down installations felt backed carpet
